Writing Positive Affirmations:  Use Simple
Morning Affirmations to Get You Started


Writing positive affirmations can seem overwhelming in the beginning.  A simple way to get started is to create a habit of doing morning affirmations as you wake up.  Two reasons why this is such a easy way to start is because:
  1. It allows you to relax and get results right away, and
  2. It allows you to "play with" positive phrases and to "percolate ideas"
    throughout the day.
Once you learn about the effectiveness of morning affirmations to get your "flow going," you'll want to learn how to write targeted affirmations that go after the limiting beliefs held deep inside your mind on an UN-conscious level.

Morning Affirmations

The best time of day to do affirmations is in the morning because your subconscious mind is most vulnerable right after you have awakened, as well as the affirmations can fine tune your “radar” to be positive all day long.

In fact, by doing simple morning affirmations that instill an attitude of gratitude, you are practicing the best daily affirmations you can do because when you are grateful, you enlist the most powerful law in the universe, which is known as the Law of Attraction, which makes you “attract” the things that you think about and “feel emotionally” on a consistent basis.

How to Write Affirmations

The most important thing when first learning how to write affirmations is to write short affirmations.

Why?  Because short phrases are easier to write when you're starting out, but also because short affirmations carry a powerful “zing” to them...

And they're easy to remember so you can keep them going all day long.

Affirmation List

The easiest thing to do when starting out writing affirmations is simply to wake up in the morning and start saying “thank you for....” (whatever comes to mind.)

This is effective because it immediately tunes your mental state to focusing on gratefulness, rather than falling back into negative mental habits as soon as we awaken.

Affirmation examples such as, “Thank you for this cozy bed,” “Thank you for a fresh new day,” “Thank you for the food in my refrigerator,” “Thank you for the heat in my house,” “I appreciate Jane being in my life,” etc., are great starters.

While these affirmation examples may seem overly simplified, they really do have an incredible effect on our well being for the rest of the day and instill the importance of keeping life simple.

Why is it important to keep life simple?

Because with all of today's technological advances and “disconnected ways of living,” remembering the simple things in life allows us to remain grateful on the most human level of existence...

A level of existence that becomes ignored from getting caught up in the perceived needs of today's lifestyles.

So, doing personal affirmations that focus on the basic things around you can easily shape your morning affirmations time into a feeling of abundance and well being to start your day.


Writing positive affirmations can be a fun process as you get better and better at learning how to write affirmations and adding to your list of affirmations phrases and other words that work for you.

Starting out with simple morning affirmations such as “I appreciate Jane” or “Thank you for the food I have to eat” gives you a powerful way to boost your enthusiasm for writing affirmations because you'll soon experience how much they shift your energy and will want to do more.
