Self Hypnosis Scripts
How to Use Them Successfully

Self hypnosis scripts are a common part of any self hypnosis instruction, but how do you use them successfully? Part of learning how to do self hypnosis is finding out....

Exactly what's going on inside of your head that motivates your behaviors. 

For example, you can use a generic self hypnosis script to help you curb your appetite for smoking, but what if there's another “motivation lurking” deep inside your mind that keeps you smoking?

When you can unveil that motivation, you're more likely to use a self hypnosis script more successfully.

Self Hypnosis Instruction

After you've unveiled that negative belief that keeps you spinning in a negative fashion, you'll want to figure how what type of script to use.

When you start any self hypnosis instruction, you are encouraged to use different self hypnosis scripts.  For example, one script would usually be used as an induction and another one used to make the changes you desire, such as a hypnosis script to stop smoking.

You'll also want to include a script that helps you “wake up” from the state of hypnosis.

So, learning how to do hypnosis by starting with an induction script, a script for change and a wake up script are the starting basics for your self hypnosis instruction.

Self Hypnosis Audio

Sometimes a self hypnosis guide offers a self hypnosis audio with an induction that gently guides you down the levels of meditation and into a nice state of hypnosis.  My favorite type of audio to use for this purpose is something called a “brainwave entrainment mp3” that also includes a hypnotic induction.

But a good brainwave meditation audio with a hypnotic induction and hypnotic suggestions that are more than just “run of the mill” may be a bit hard to find.  So, a better idea would be to figure out what your limiting beliefs are and then learn how to write affirmations (or hypnotic suggestions) that target those negative beliefs and then listen to an appropriate brainwave meditation that helps you absorb the suggestions.

How to do Self Hypnosis

When you are learning how to do self hypnosis and want to change those negative beliefs that are lurking deep down in your subconscious and motivating your behaviors, you can go about doing it a few different ways.

One way is to simply monitor your self talk, which I know sounds way too simple and obvious...

But, although it may be simple, it isn't as obvious as you first thought.

For example, you may think that you have “no problem at all” with receiving and having money until you listen to yourself for a day or a week and jot down all the things that you've said or heard someone else say about money.

After doing this exercise, if you're like most people, you'll come up with all sorts of “negative beliefs” that you have around money.

You see, all the time you are either repeating things in conversations or hearing what others have to say about a subject, you are actually practicing instant self hypnosis.

While there are many types of hypnosis, there is something called, “conversational hypnosis” that neuro linguistic programming (NLP) practitioners practice every day (without our knowing about it.)

And while NLP and conversational hypnosis is pretty complicated, suffice to say that whatever you repeat enough or hear enough gets embedded into your subconscious – whether you are aware of its presence or not.

Instant Self Hypnosis

So, how do you use self hypnosis scripts successfully?  Here are some tips:
  1. Listen to yourself for a week or so and jot down what you say and hear about a certain subject.

  2. Objectively review your notes and see where the common thread occurs in relation to an idea that you are putting out or taking in.

  3. Find a good self hypnosis audio that not only has a hypnotic induction, but also includes a brainwave meditation that helps you absorb affirmations or suggestions and a “wake up” at the end.

  4. Learn to write positive affirmations that address the negative “stuff” you found when you listened to yourself.

  5. Plug the affirmations into the self hypnosis audio at the right time.  You can either do this electronically or just by reading the affirmations out loud when you're listening to the self hypnosis audio.
While this process may seem a bit complicated, it's worth the effort because you'll be targeting beliefs that are embedded in your brain and helping them change to new beliefs.
