First, let's define affirmation. When I looked up the “official” definition of the word, “affirmation,” I found numerous definitions that indicated that you are “declaring or affirming” something to be true.
So, in our case, we are either declaring that we have high self esteem or affirming that we have high self esteem...
But, if you're doing self esteem affirmations or self love affirmations, chances are you “don't” already believe it so there's really nothing to “affirm.”
So, that leaves us with “declaring” that we have a high level of self love and/or self esteem, which is the first step in changing your internal picture of yourself...
So, in answer to the question, “What is an Affirmation?” It is setting intention with a declaration of what you want to achieve and then practicing this affirmation enough to change your subconscious perception of the matter.
So, let's dive into some good self esteem affirmations and self love affirmations that “declare” that we want to have higher self esteem or greater self love.
"I accept and love myself unconditionally as I am right now."
"I forgive myself for my past and future mistakes."
"I always see the best in myself."
"It's okay to be my best."
"It's okay to show myself love and acceptance."
As you'll see, these self esteem and self love affirmations center around accepting yourself as you are right now, which is critical to becoming who you want to be in the future.
Because although it sounds contradictory, once you accept yourself as you are, you open the door to unconditionally loving yourself...
Once you can unconditionally love yourself, you treat yourself with higher self respect and...
In turn your self esteem level shoots higher!
It's an upward spiral that all starts with personal affirmations centered around loving yourself unconditionally.
Another important factor when practicing daily affirmations to increase self esteem and self love is to include happiness affirmations that give you permission to be happy.
Once you have permission to be happy, your other self esteem affirmations and self love affirmations can take on more energy simply because you at at a higher vibration level, which, in turn, manifests your desires quicker.
So, it's important to be happy as you do your daily affirmations.
"I am content with my life as it is right now."
"I trust that I can find joy in everything I do."
"My happiness is a guaranteed gift for my life."
"I deserve and receive an increasing amount of happiness."
"I feel joy and happiness all the time."
Using words of affirmations that declare what you desire in your self affirmations is important, but there is another factor that many times gets left out...
And that “other” important factor is doing things on a symbolic level to show yourself that you deserve greater self esteem, self love and happiness.
So, in addition to doing your self esteem affirmations, self love affirmations and happiness affirmations as a part of your daily affirmations, be sure to find ways to treat yourself like your self esteem is already higher than it is right now.
For example, if you never buy flowers for yourself, then the simple act of buying flowers for yourself symbolically shows your subconscious that you are treating yourself as if you had higher self esteem...
By practicing small acts such as buying flowers or a special soap for your bathroom or a special cup of coffee, you come into “harmony” with the vibration of higher self esteem and your subconscious will follow suite and make it come true.
You also have to take "physical action" to change your vibration. To do this, you want to work on an "energetic level," rather than just an intellectual level.

When using self esteem affirmations, the top choice for success is to use words of affirmation that gently raise the bar just a little above where you are right now.
One way of doing this in the beginning is to use terms that “give you permission to become” or “are content and happy with yourself as you are right now” because these two areas are important to opening subtle doors in your subconscious to want to receive more self affirmations for change...
And it's in your subconscious that you want to root out your unconscious beliefs and change them. One way of doing this is to give yourself permission when you start a new endeavor such practicing daily positive affirmations.
