Online Personal Development Programs

When you're looking at online personal development programs, the first thing that comes to mind is asking if anyone has had success.  This article gives you a peak at my experience with an eight-week positive thinking course.

I journaled my experience with the program as I progressed through it and decided to share it with you to give you a peak at the program.

Here's a candid look at [what I've found to be] one of the best online personal development programs which I wrote about each week as I went through the program:

Week One

MY THOUGHTS AS I PROGRESS THROUGH WEEK ONE:

This week's spotlight has been on finding your purpose and passion in life.  And, while I've done a lot of soul searching prior to doing this program, I found a deeper meaning to my life than I had known last week.

The neatest thing that happened during this week was that after I finished day four (half way through the week) I checked my email.

Since my email is on yahoo, when I signed off, the yahoo news page came up and there were some stories about people following their passions in their second half of life.

Interesting, huh? Here I'd been “focusing on my passion" for the past few days, and “out-of-the-blue pops up “people following their passions during their second half of life.”

Almost makes you want to say, "Gosh, Suzanne, did you attract that?  After all, you're thinking about your second half of life and your passion?"

Yea, probably.

That's a nice start to this positive thinking course, isn't it?  I'm thinking more positive already.

Besides my notes about my experience with the course, the program prompts you to keep a "journal" as you go through the program.  Here's an excerpt from week one's journal:

MY JOURNAL

As I finished my first week of the program today, I am surprised.  Surprised because as much as I am into personal development and listening to my own heart, today's exercise prompted me to go a little deeper.  At first I wasn't sure how to answer the question they posed, but as I allowed my mind let go and focus on that question, thoughts suddenly came rushing in.  It was fun to let my mind to just "play."  The next thing I know, I'm having a revelation and a sigh of release, and I'm thinking, "This is fun!"  It's like taking your mind out for an afternoon at the playground.

That negative voice that in the beginning said, "Oh, you can't answer that kind of question" quickly went away and my mind sprang into action.  It's amazing what we can do when we don't hold ourselves back.  I just simply put my ego and expectations aside and "let go."  If that's what this adventure is going to be for the next seven weeks, I'm going to enjoy this.

Over the course of this week, I've had experiences to quietly examine what motivates people to do the things they do... including myself.  Putting time into this self-discovery program is prompting me to take a few minutes for myself that I would not otherwise do, which is surprising since I usually feel so balanced. 

But this has given me permission to expand myself into new directions, thinking more freely and actually feeling more peaceful. That's something I didn't expect.  I feel like I'm on a path, a good path, that is gently unfolding as I seek it.  I feel empowered, yet settled right now.  How interesting.  And although I'm already following my passions, I now realize how each of my passions has lead me to my next "passion," and how it has been an upward spiral.  Very encouraging.

One thing I felt today is how nice it feels to have someone else encouraging me on a consistent basis.  After a day of being "out there" mixing it up with people and being the encourager, it felt really nice today to just have someone uplift and support me.

Overall, I'm encouraged.

So that ends my first week of the program.  I have more understanding about how passion plays a significant role in our happiness and am more open to attracting it in whatever form it comes.

Conculsions I Drew From This Week

If you're wondering if I came to any conclusions from this week about my purpose, the answer is "yes." 

I am truly on my path of purpose and passion, and have been for years - even though I didn't know it.  This week has given me new awareness and insight into why I'm drawn to doing certain things.  And this insight and awareness gives me validation that I'm on the right path.

UPDATE:  Sorry to say, though, the course I took is no longer available despite the fact that it was one of the best online personal development programs.  But, I have another option for you that's even better because it has subliminal affirmations and self hypnosis instruction.  Here's more on it...
