As We Express Our Gratitude,
We Change the World Around Us

As we express our gratitude, an interesting thing happens which is that we actually can change others around us.  Why does this happen and why is it so powerful?  Let's look at this and...

Discuss a few elements of the benefits of gratitude and why we should practice gratitude to change the world around us.

AS WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE
Benefits of Gratitude

Although I've written an article about the benefits of gratitude, one of the surprising benefits is that it can change our heart coherence, which has been said to change the heart coherence of people within 15-18 feet of us.

For example, if a person in one room is feeling grateful, then the person in the next room's heart can come into a coherent state of gratitude as well.

Since I'd heard this from a source that couldn't identify the study, I did a bit of research myself about this and found something very interesting about how our heart has a biomagnetic field that can be measured within a certain distance around us.

Here's a tidbit of the research I found:

“The biomagnetic field of the heart extends indefinitely into space. While its strength diminishes with distance, there is no point at which we can say the field ends... strength of the heart’s magnetic field to be the most powerful in the body and research shows that cardio-electromagnetic communication can be generated through coherence building techniques.”

So, what exactly does that mean?  Let's talk about that next...

AS WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE
Practice Gratitude

When you practice gratitude, you change your “frequency” of thoughts to a higher level according to the emotional scale.

If you don't know about the emotional scale, I've written an article about "How to Develop Gratitude", which describes this scale of emotions.  Take a moment now and click here to go to that article so we're both on the same page as to why having an attitude of gratitude tops the scale of emotions.  I'll be here waiting for your return...

AS WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE
Showing Gratitude

Once you've changed your thought frequency enough to “resonate gratitude,” apparently your heart comes into a coherent state or rhythm and...

energy-towerThis rhythm is powerful enough to be broadcast through your heart's “radio station” of biomagnetic energy, which actually can change the heart rhythms of those around you.

So, in a nutshell, showing gratitude not only changes you – for the positive – but also changes “the world around you” - for the positive!

I think Mahatma Gandhi said it very well when he said:

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
~Mahatma Gandhi

AS WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE
Living in Gratitude

Now that we know why we want to develop an attitude of gratitude, let's briefly talk about a few ways to learn how to develop gratitude.

There are many “tools” to use when living in gratitude.  Some of these tools are:
  • Writing or keeping a mental gratitude list of things (even small things) for which you are grateful;

  • Writing a gratitude letter to the Universe, your spouse, your children, or to your cat... so they feel appreciated;

  • Using words of gratitude like “Thank you,” “I appreciate,” “I love” throughout your day;

  • Reciting a gratitude prayer each night;

  • Keeping gratitude journals that document the things you appreciate;

  • Having quotes of gratitude around you to remind your subconscious to remain grateful; and

  • Writing a gratitude poem to yourself about what you like about yourself.

AS WE EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE
Summary

As we express our gratitude more to ourselves, we unleash the power of gratitude within our bodies to help others become more grateful.

In doing this, you're making a small, but significant impact on the world around you, which can expand exponentially.

Check out this article that tells you the results of a study conducted in tandem by the Universities of California and Miami about the benefits of maintaining a grateful disposition.

It also has a hypnosis download that helps you "take the easy route" to developing an attitude of gratitude.
